Checkerboard Ochre Yellow – Checkered non-woven wallpaper for the nursery and kids' room – Atelier Chien

A classic pattern with a warm, playful twist! The Dambord Okergeel Wallpaper by Atelier Chien instantly gives the nursery or kid's room a special look. The delicate checkerboard pattern in a gorgeous, warm ochre yellow shade brings together coziness, character, and a touch of nostalgia. Perfect for anyone who loves a stylish interior with just that little bit of extra playfulness!

The small checks of approximately 3 cm form an even checkerboard pattern that gives the wall a cheerful, yet serene feel. The classic design is reminiscent of charming vintage interiors and pairs beautifully with both a Scandinavian nursery and a colorful kid's room with unique details.

The warm ochre yellow color pairs wonderfully with natural wood tones, soft cream colors, and warm earthy shades. Think of a beautiful wooden crib, a soft wool rug, and accessories in natural or beige. For a playful, modern feel, you can also combine the wallpaper with light blue, olive green, or burgundy. Paired with dark walnut furniture, it creates an exceptionally warm and stylish look.

Whether you want to wallpaper an entire room or give a cozy play corner a distinctive accent, this checkerboard wallpaper makes it easy to create a space full of personality. The fine pattern makes enough of a statement to add character without ever feeling overwhelming.

The wallpaper is made of matte non-woven wallpaper with a calm, sophisticated finish. The material is FSC-certified, VOC-free, and fire-retardant. What's more, non-woven wallpaper is easy to hang because you apply the wallpaper paste directly to the wall. This makes giving the nursery or kid's room a completely fresh new look delightfully easy.

Each package contains two wallpaper drops measuring 53 cm wide and 270 cm high. Together, they cover a wall width of 106 cm, provided the wall height falls within the available drop length.

The design was lovingly and thoughtfully crafted by Annechien, the designer behind Atelier Chien. Guided by her passion for color, unique prints, and playful interiors, she creates designs that bring character to any space. The wallpaper is made to order in the Netherlands.

A wonderful choice for a warm nursery, cheerful kid's room, or special play corner where natural materials, classic patterns, and playful color accents come together.

How much wallpaper do you need?

Each package contains 2 drops measuring 53 cm wide and 270 cm high. Together, they cover a wall width of 106 cm, provided the wall height (including cutting margin) falls within the available drop length.

Step 1: Measure the total width and height of your wall.

Step 2: Add about 10 cm extra to the measured wall height to account for small height variations or uneven ceilings.

Step 3: Divide the total wall width by 53 cm and round up to determine the required number of drops. Because each package contains two drops, divide the number of drops by two and round up again.

Important: We recommend ordering all required wallpaper drops in a single order to prevent subtle color variations between different production batches.

Do you have a non-standard wall height or are you unsure about the amount you need? Feel free to reach out to us. We’re always happy to help explore custom options with you.

Styling tip: Pair the ochre yellow checkerboard wallpaper with warm wooden furniture, soft cream tones, and natural linen fabrics for a calm, cozy nursery. Add accessories in light blue, olive green, or burgundy for a playful, modern interior.
